Orphan Sponsorship

Statistically Uganda is one of the youngest countries in the world by age of population. Hiv/Aids hit the country hard and left large numbers of orphans and many families in tatters with single parents, aunts and uncles and grandparents trying to pick up the pieces. Lack of infrastructure and limited economic possibilities frustrate efforts to rebound. The Orphan Sponsorship Program makes a future possible by providing school fees, scholastic materials, food and soon housing for orphans in the Kyamulibwa sub-county. Currently over 22 students are sponsored and attending school through sponsorship from this program. Sponsors provide an initial donation of $120 for a mattress and blanket, mosquito netting and hygiene supplys, (requirements to attend boarding school), and then $40 monthly for regular fees, materials and food. Sponsors learn the details of their specific child’s circumstances and receive regular updates and photos of their sponsored child and their progress.
